Our story

From building materials to a connected business

Martin Hardware started in 2012 with a clear purpose: to supply the construction and finishing materials that builders, contractors and homeowners rely on to complete their projects.

Working with materials meant working with everything around them — getting goods to site, and keeping the vehicles that carry them on the road. Over time those practical needs became businesses of their own. Logistics developed into Martin Logistics, and commercial tyre retreading into Martin Retread.

The result is a company whose divisions support one another: materials for building, transport for moving goods, and retreading for the commercial vehicles behind both. Martin Hardware Ltd remains the parent identity, with Twyford Rwanda featured within its construction materials business.

   Starting with building and finishing materials

   According to the published company profile, Martin Hardware began in 2012. Its original focus was construction and finishing materials — the tiles, sanitary ware, glass and boards that turn a structure into a finished, usable space. That focus shaped the company’s first relationships with builders, contractors and homeowners in Kigali.

   Moving goods became a business of its own

   Supplying materials means understanding how goods travel from supplier to site. The company profile identifies logistics as a later stage of development, and Martin Logistics now gives businesses a dedicated route for discussing cargo, collection points, destinations and handling requirements.

   Extension · Retreading

   Serving the vehicles that keep business moving

   Martin Retread adds a commercial tyre service alongside transport. For fleet and commercial operators, retreading is a way to consider further use of an eligible casing — always beginning with an inspection of its condition.

   One parent company, three connected divisions

   Today Martin Hardware Ltd brings materials, transport and tyre services together under one identity. Each division keeps a clear specialist purpose, while customers benefit from a single company they can contact for building projects and the operations that support them.

Only the 2012 starting point is dated; later stages describe the company’s development without specific dates.
